Educators have responsibilities in helping students navigate the amount of information online. Most students now grew up with a lot of technology and spend a lot of their time online. It is easy for students to feel overwhelmed because there is just too much information. Students could also go to sites that may not have true information. The use of technology and internet since the pandemic of 2020 if much more now than before, so this is more important than ever. Teachers need to help guide students through the research that they have to do on the internet. It is a good idea to go ahead and find specific websites that you want the students to use instead of letting them search up sites on their own. When the teacher helps the students filter the websites, then the students can manage their time better and avoid problems with information overload. Teachers can make sure that the websites are good sources of information for the topic of the class assignment. They don’t have to g...
There have been a lot of school shootings and bad violence in schools more and more in the last several years. This makes the safety of the students a big concern for schools right now. A trend in teaching that poses a challenge to me as a future teacher is the trend of public schools finding new ways to prepare for sudden acts of violence. This is both a personal challenge and a professional challenge for me. I am scared when I think of some bad kind of violence happening at school. I know the kids are so young and they would get so scared. I love the kids I work with and I do not want anything bad to happen to them. I know our school needs to have the best security we can to keep them safe. We have drills and trainings sometimes, but I am afraid that some kids would get hurt or worse. The world is so crazy right now that it is hard to feel like everybody is safe even at the school with the best security. I have specific responsibilities in the classroom for when a violent a...
S tudent Diversity Is a Gift I know that a lot of my students will be very different from me. Their lives would differ from my life because students come from different countries and different backgrounds. I know that I have to adjust the way I teach because not everyone learns the same way. The student diversity is a gift because there is room for multiple intelligences. Some people are good at drawing pictures and coloring, and other students are really good at talking and telling stories to show what they learn. Other students are good readers and writers, so they can express themselves that way. Other students may be good at math or other specific subjects. I come from a different country, with no education. I grew up in Guatemala, and school was very expensive and not very important to my family. I have seen this in some of the students in the classroom. Everyone has a way to learn based on their backgrounds. The ones who never had any education, they need more time to lear...

Blogger Journal Entry 4

ED 302                                Journal Entry                                                               02/08/2026   My favorite hobby is writing. I really like to use my imagination and start writing little stories or poems. Every time I am going through some emotional things or going through some problems. I like to start writing what I am feeling, but in a poem or story style. We do writing lessons like this sometimes with my EL students, so this is the lesson I would like to teach. I will teach a lesson where I as...

My Experiences with standardize testing

I had never took standard test when I grew up in Guatemala because I just went to third grade. This was new to me, I was not a Spanish speaker nor a English speaker, I spoke in my native langue and came to USA when i was 19 years old. The first standards test that I had to taken in the USA, was the GED test. That it made me feel scare, stressful, and disappointed. The positive thing about it, is that it made me see what I had learned. It proved to me that I can learn something new. The negative, is that I had to take 5 subjects at one time. It got so stressful because it was so much reading and my brain was already to tired to answer the questions. It was so scary because I did not know if I was going to past it. When I did not past all them,  I cried, and it was disappointing to me. There came a time that made me so sad because I thought that I was never going to past all of them.

My Teacher Journey

I never had a solid education i only went to school till 3rd grade in my country. So what influenced me was the teacher that I worked with and do work with to this day. What influences me is that I am already teaching with other teacher and have been working with teachers for seven years. But I am not making enough money to survive. I have worked with so many different teachers and I know that I can teach what they teach but I need the certificate. I have many concerns that I won't make it past this class or make it through the whole year and not get my certificate.

Journal Entry 1: 5c's vs Me

Committed: I help my students with their assignment by doing one and showing them as an example.  Caring: I do one with them. I told them that just do your best, does not need to be perfect.  Courageous: I work with each student depending on what they are working on. Sometimes I read the instruction to them, but still not understanding like what, then I give them example.  Conscious: I work with every single student depending on their needs. Some needs more help then others. I look around and see the screens, if when they summited the answer they get green or red. I sit and watch the students try and see if they can figure it out. After a few minutes I ask them do you need help, do you understand then they told me and I sit with that student. Other raise their hands and ask for help. Centered: I am not always teaching every subject to the students, like science or a reading class but I still do it and try my best at it to learn with them and to help them learn....
